This country!

I mean, Jamaica has been my favorite place between 2006-2011. Then they locked Vybz Kartel up but I still dreamt back about going to "my island". I loved it because of the laid back lifestyle, the sweet music, the warmt and the people.

So from 2013-2022  I was in Sweden and delt with the problems created there..

I remember that I didn't even understood why Jamaica is classified as a third world country, because they have everything here and more.

However, now that I have lived in Jamaica more than a year and went all over the place. I see the problems. There is a saying in Jamaica, that there is no problem here. I agreed with that statement in the beginning, because they always "fix" the problem and are way more inventive than say swedish people... Yesterday I saw how a man built his car with different colour on the parts and I really love how they do their own thing and don't try to copy anybody else... BUT

Now I see there is a problem with most things in Jamaica. 

I didn't see it as a problem, because I was smoking weed all the time, when I was here back then. You see when you smoke, everything feels ok or criss, as they say here.     But to me it is stupid to settle for less. I mean why don't you fix everything properly, so that it don't have to be solved again?

I have known that the Jamaican government and police is a big ass problem a very long time. But this time around I've seen better how they are preventing the inhabitants of this country. The way they are ruling/ acting towards the people is horrible.

   I mean they don't even help them with anything. But take all the tax income they get for their own benefits.

You should see the roads in any place that do not have alot of tourists or working people living there. They are full of holes everywhere, do not have light posts and the drivers don't follow any rules. They could drive in the middle of the road, they don't care if they dimm their lights when they are meating traffic etc.

People here die a whole lot, even when they are young. They have a lot of people that sell casquets and work with funerals. The Jamaican police is not viewed as nice people but someone to hide from. My exhusbands daddy got shot by the police, when he wasn't even one...

The salary they get when they work, is not enough to pay more than food. All of them can not pay for electricity and do not have running water. They have to go very far to taps providing them with river water so that they can "shower" and rely on rainwater to flush their toilet. To drink they would have to buy water or boil the water. 

I mean I have been living up on the mountains now for some weeks and they cook by lighting a fire inside :S.... Luckily mr.M know how to do everything, so he has built a pipe to the kitchen and shower now that I'm here helping...

However, when I lived in this middle class area in Spanish Town or rich areas in Kingston. They had running water, that you can not drink and the houses where ok or good/great. You see being in Kingston is like being in a different country, because they are modernized and have everything you could want and need. I love Kingston, because the people have vibes and are great. 

   Being on the country side however is not nice. People shout whitie or browning quite often, as if I would ever call them nigger or brownie/blackie...

   Some days ago a car with a man and tinted windows stopped next to me and told me that he could give me a ride. I said hell no and walked away, to a wall where 3 girls sat. So he reversed and came there, trying to convince me. He even showed his little children in the back. So I told him that I already have a man, then he said that he could be my side man. Oh once in Mandeville a youth asked me if I didn't want to give my man bun 🤬. They are so disrespectful and do not care about anybody else again.

Cars are driving here next to this house all night. In the nights the crickets sound non stop, if you manage to ignore that sound after a while. The doggs start barking or the donkeys yell.. In the mornings at like 5 or 6, they could start to cutt the grass or work with different things that sound alot. They even put their own building blocks or cement next to/on the nabours car. They put the bags of cement on this porch and stole the container with water and put in their own. Oh they cut down plenty banana trees etc, because M cousin decided to build a house on his yard 😣.

Jamaican people do not have any respect for nature. They through bottles, even boken ones, plastic forks and boxes, combs etc on the ground! That is so ignorant that I can't think of anything more stupid...

They don't have normal food in the rural areas and honestly the Jamaican food taste like crap. Sure some food in Kingston or the bigg cities is ok, but it does not taste perfect or great. 

The standard of the Jamaican living is not ok at all, not even in a hostel. I remember how the water stopped working two times when we where living in Mobay. Montego Bqy, which is a city that I don't like at all. They have many tourists and are trying to make you buy from them more time.

Overall the biggest problem is that this country got like 10 celcius hotter, in ten years 🥵. It is not nice in anyway 

Here in Albert town, it's crazy. If it's notvthe church people sounding awful, you hear cars driving, or donkeys screaming. or doggs barking or crickets sounding constantly. Matthew is great he is working hard every day. today he drove to the other side of the town 3 times and filled like 10 bottles 10-20 kilos of spring water. Then he drove to another town and bought Coca Cola and nutts, chockholate to me.. And he washed, having to fill the machine with water... I can not even get out of bed, these three days it's been like 32 degrees, down in the house in Falmouth it was like 40 degrees celcius :S. I can't wait to go back to Sweden, where we actually have alot of food that taste great, unlimited water in the taps and shower, machines that do what they are supposed to. No dirt anywhere! I filled 5 big sacks with trash people threw on the ground 🤢. Before I have been living in middle class areas or rich areas and they cleaned all the time. I wrote this post in different times, and I don't have the energy to read it again. I'm not depressed at all but I love the standard in Sweden more than here! I never want to return. It is so expensive here now...

Plus I can not walk out of the mosqito net, because everytime I do, I get atleased 7 bites, that swoll up and itch :S. It is like the government do experiments try to kill the mosqito, but they just got stronger and multiply even more :S. This country is not nice at all. Matthew is great but this place is horrible 2022...

Nobody should have to live like this. It's almost the same to be inside as being outside here.. People listen to dirty Dancehall and not sweet Reggae. I'm so done with that type of music.  

It is a nice luxury that they have entire banana "things", we might have like 60 bananas in the kitchen.. and some plantain but I don't ever want to eat cooked food here, because then we would have to burn coal and that's not nice. Why do people live like this?

It's like even if they just cook porridge, they do it for minimum 30 minutes, so all the nutriens and "crops" are destroyed. It's just like a soft mass, that taste burned 😥. I really want to go back to Sweden, to live like this is absolutely nasty and to tourment yourself...

According to me Kingston is the best part of Jamaica.. A great place... Country side is really not for me, a horrible place...
